School Programs

Fame EMS has been providing a school program to Buchanan Elementary School for several years.  The program consists of classroom sessions as well as apparatus for the students to tour.  The classroom sessions include a demonstration of CPR and first aid education on burns, cuts, poisonings, and other medical emergencies.  Along with Fame EMS personnel, there is also a representative from Mifflin County Communications to explain how the 911 dispatch system works.  The program is designed to educate the student on what to do in the event of an emergency as well as what to expect if the student is involved in an emergency in which they may be transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
