Junior Attendant

Junior Ambulance Attendant Program

Fame EMS is currently offering a Junior Ambulance Attendant Program.  The program is available for youths between the ages of 14 and 18.  Under the program, junior members receive on-the-job training in the emergency medical field and, in return, are expected to volunteer a minimum of 24 hours each quarter and meet minimum academic requirements to remain active.  While 14 and 15 year old members act primarily as observers, the course provides them with the basics of first aid training.  After turning 16, the juniors become eligible for more advanced training, such as the Emergency Medical Technician class.  As members, the company covers tuition for those who choose to pursue EMT and paramedic training.  There is also a scholarship toward medical programs other than pre-hospital for those who remain active for two years.  Upon request, interested applicants will receive a packet containing copies of the Junior Program Guidelines, the Child Labor Law and necessary parental consent forms.  Parental consent forms, a student work permit, and a $25 application fee are required to be considered for the program.  Teenagers interested in the Junior Ambulance Attendant Program are encouraged to contact Fame EMS for more information.
