May 23, 2009 - National EMS Memorial Service

Members of Fame EMS traveled to Roanoke, VA. to attend the National EMS Memorial Service.  This year 89 EMS Line of Duty Deaths were acknowledged.

 

May 21, 2009 - EMS Week Picnic

Members of Fame EMS and their families were treated to a steak dinner in honor of National EMS Week.  Fame EMS recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff.

 

May 11, 2009 - Updated Medical Supply Room

Members of Fame EMS spent the 2nd week of May updating the medical supply room.  This included installing new lights, flooring, painting and a new layout.  Stop by and check it out.  It looks great.

May 1, 2009 - House Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded with LFD to 174 N. Walnut St. for a house fire. (Lewistown Borough box 14-10)  Units arrived to find a working house fire.  Rehab 12 operated during this 2 alarm fire.

April 30, 2009 - Townhouse Fire

Fame Rehab 12 was requested to assist with a townhouse fire located at 48 Greenfield Drive.  (Brown Twp. Box 6-20)  Members assisted with Rehab operations on this 2 alarm fire.

April 25, 2009 - Kid's Connection

Members of Fame EMS participated in this years Kid's Connection.  Thousands of balloons were handed out along with Ambulance tours.  Many thanks to all members that came out to help.

April 22, 2009 - Barn Fire

Fame EMS & Rehab responded with area Fire Stations to 1150 Mountain Springs Lane (Decatur Twp. Box 5-20) Units arrived to find a barn well off.

April 2009 - Spring Cleaning

Members of Fame EMS have been taking advantage of the warm weather.  Many spring cleaning projects have been conducted.  Thanks to all that helped.

 

April 19, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with LFD to Spring St. & E. Walnut St. (Lewistown Borough Box 14-10)  Arrived on scene to find a two vehicle rear end collision.

 

April 9, 2009 - Schools Program

Members of Fame EMS conducted the annual First Aid Program for the 5th grade students at Buchannan Elementary School.

March 28, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded along with LFDS to US Hgwy 322 west in the area of Walnut St. on -ramp (Lewistown Borough Box 14-10).  Arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle MVA with multiple injuries.

March 25, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with LFD to South Main St. & US Hgwy 22-322 (Lewistown Borough Box 13-10).  Units arrived to find a tractor & trailer overturned.

March 23, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with Engine 2 and Rescue 14 to the 1500 block of Back Maitland Rd. (Derry Twp. Box 2-30)  Arrived to find one vehicle over-turned with one pinned.

 

March 22, 2009 - Rehab Training

Members of Fame EMS under the Direction of Deputy Chief Abrashoff participated in Rehab training.  This was in conjunction with the Lewistown FD quarterly training.

Fame EMS would like to congratulate two area fire companies on their new arrivals.  Fame EMS looks forward to responding to many calls with these two new rigs.

March 6, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with area agencies to Rt. 522 North & Long Lane (Derry Twp. Box 2-20).  Arrived on scene to find a two vehicle rear end collision.

 

 

February 13, 2009 - House Fire

Fame EMS responded along with LFD to 1002 W. 6th St. (Lewistown Borough Box 11-10)  Arrived on scene to find a working house fire.

February 11, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded to S. Walnut St. & Shaw Ave. (Lewistown Borough Box 14-10) Arrived to find a two vehicle MVA with injuries.

January 29, 2009 - Garage Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded with area fire agencies to Hawstone Road (Granville Twp. Box 15-10).  Arrived on scene to find a working garage fire attached to a house.  B Platoon under the direction of Captain Sunderland setup the EMS and Rehab sector.

 

January 26, 2009 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with area Fire & Rescue agencies to US Highway 522 North at Bobcat Lane (Deatur Twp. Box 5-30) for an MVA.  Arrived on scene to find one vehicle on its side with two patients confined.  Rescue 5 went to work with patients removed within ten minutes.

January 21, 2009 - Building Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded to 3254 Old Stage Rd. (Decatur Twp. Box 5-20) for a building fire.  Fame EMS arrived on scene to find a working fire in a saw dust collector with extension into the building.  Fame EMS under the direction of Captain Sunderland setup the EMS sector and provided Rehab Operations with the heated rehab tent.

November 23, 2008 - House Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded to 823 Parcheytown Rd. (Derry Twp. Box 4-30) for a house fire.  Arrived on scene to find a working fire.  Local firefighters made many rescues of the animals that lived in this house.  Fame EMS staff provided care to the injured animals.  Job well done to all.

 

November 4, 2008

Ambulance 12-5 was pronounced deceased as of today.  It now resides in Rossman's Junk Yard.  Ambulance 12-5 served Fame EMS well for many years.  Stay tuned for the arrival of the new Ambulance 12-5.  It should be here for Christmas.

Members of Fame EMS held their yearly Cash Night.  A great time was had by all.  Many thanks to those that helped with this fund-raiser.

October 31, 2008

Members of Fame EMS participated in the Downtown Lewistown Safe Trick or Treat night.  Over 1,000 treats were given out over the two hour time frame.

October 29, 2008 - Halloween Parade

Members of Fame EMS sponsored the 3rd Annual Halloween Parade.  Good times were had by all.  Many thanks to all the dedicated members that helped with this project.

October 25, 2008 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with Highland Park FD for an MVA on Mill Rd. Derry Twp. Box 4-10

 

October 28, 2008 - Power Outage

Fame EMS and Rehab responded to Wm. Penn Nursing Center for a power failure.  EMS provided oxygen and power with Rehab 12 until the problem could be corrected.

October 17, 2008 - Building Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded with area fire companies to 800 Middle Rd.(Granville Twp Box 17-10) for a commercial building fire.  EMS arrived and provided EMS and Rehab services throughout the night.

 

September 7, 2008

Members and families of Fame EMS enjoyed an end of summer picnic / swim at DelGrosso Park in Tyrone.

August 23, 2008

Members of Fame EMS participated in the Central Districts Fireman's Parade and came home with a 1st place trophy for our antique ambulance.

August 5, 2008

Members of Fame EMS participated in national Night Out on the square in downtown Lewistown.

Fame EMS responded with area fire and rescue units for multiple vehicle accidents on Rt. 522 North (Derry Twp.l Box 2-30)

Fame EMS responded with area fire and rescue units for a four vehicle MVA on Rt. 22 West (Granville Twp. Box 15-20)

June 6, 2008 - Lewistown Area High School Graduation

Members of Fame EMS provided rehab services for the Graduation Ceremonies.  With temperatures at 100 degrees this was a real work out for the first time use of our Rehab Tent.

May 28th, 2008 - School Fire

Fame Rehab 12 responded on the second alarm school fire at the Belleville Mennonite Elementary School (Union Twp Box 24-60)

 

May 23 - 24, 2008

Members of the Fire/Rescue/Police and school district had the opportunity for two days of training with Chief Wayne Zygowicz.  These were two great days of much needed information and we hope Ziggy returns soon.

May 22, 2008

Members and their families were treated by the Fame EMS Board of Directors to a steak feed at Derry Twp Community Park.  This was in recognition of EMS Week and to show the appreciation to all members for their hard work and dedication.

May 12, 2008 - MVA

Fame EMS along with units from Junction and West Granville responded to US Highway 522 at the Industrial Park exit (Granville Twp Box 15-20) for one over-tuned.

May 12, 2008 - MVA

Fame EMS along with Burnham Fire and Reedsville Rescue responded to Logan Blvd. and Freedom Ave. Burnham Borough Box 1-10 for an MVA with confinement.

May 2nd, 2008

Members of Fame EMS went to Buchanan Elementary School for the annual EMS day for the 5th grade.  Thanks to all that helped with this great program.

April 26th, 2008

Members of Fame EMS attended the annual Kid's Connection in downtown Lewistown.  Thanks to all that helped out.

April 18 & 19, 2008

The last two days have been overwhelming for the members of Fame EMS.  The Ambulances and Rehab have responded to many brush fires in two counties due to the very dry conditions.

Members of Fame EMS and area rescue squads participated in the Basic Vehicle Rescue-Technician class.

February 7th and 11th, 2008

Fame EMS had a very special visitor riding along.  Klaus Luszeit a Paramedic from Berlin Germany spent two days observing our operation.  A great time was had by all.  Many thanks to Deputy Chief Abrashoff for taking care of all the arrangements.

February 6, 2008 - Training

Mike Coldren takes time to train with the D-Shift in the operations of the new rehab shelter.  Many thanks to Mark Wolfgang from Seven Mountains EMS Council for securing funding for this project.

February 5, 2008 - MVA

Fame EMS responded with Highland Park Fire Co. to Kish Pike (Derry Twp. Box 4-10).  Units arrived to find a vehicle over-turned.

February 4, 2008 - House Fire

Fame EMS and Rehab responded with Lewistown FD to 717 W. 6th Box 11-10.  Units arrived to find a house well off.

February 1, 2008 - Work Detail

Crews work around the station to complete needed updates.

December 31, 2007

The night of December 31st brought 2007 to a close.  Many of the dedicated career and volunteer members spent the night on the rigs after feasting on 50 lbs. of shrimp.  The night came to a close with Fame EMS attending the first annual Hartley's Chip Bag drop in downtown Lewistown.  Fame EMS ended the year with 7,325 calls.  Many thanks to all the dedicated staff members of Fame EMS for making 2007 a great year.

November 29, 2007 - Holidays

Members of C Platoon decorated the station for the upcoming holiday season.  Special thanks to the crew of Ladder 14 for helping us out.
