Congressman Visit

By Executive Director Patrick Shoop

While meeting with FAME EMS Treasurer Richard Wilcher, Chief Michael Coldren, Juniata Terrace Mayor John Wagner, and Executive Director Pat Shoop in Lewistown, I was happy to announce that the non-profit organization will be receiving Community Project Funding for the purchase of video laryngoscopy equipment.
Multiple studies have demonstrated that the use of this equipment improves patient outcomes by decreasing the time needed for a healthcare provider to successfully secure and maintain a patient airway. FAME EMS delivers essential basic and advanced life support services to over 26,000 residents across six municipalities in Mifflin County. Last year, FAME EMS responded to over 8,500 calls.
On behalf of all residents of the 13th Congressional District, I extend my gratitude to the committed team of over 100 career and volunteer members of FAME EMS for their service to the community.
